"Axelrad is Entrancing" - LA TIMES
Ali
AXELRAD
Film & Stage Actor
Actor Ali Axelrad (AEA/SAG-AFTRA) saw her first Broadway show at four years old and proclaimed "I want to do that", she made her first stage appearance later that year and has been a theater rat ever since.
You've now reached the name-dropping section of this bio, Mazel Tov! According to Ali (who may be typing this herself) her most cherished career highlights vary from David Fincher's Academy Award winning film Mank, playing Wendy opposite Tony Nominee Jenn Colella in Peter Pan at the Stephen Sondheim Performing Arts Center, making her Carnegie Hall debut in the US Premier Mechaye Haymitim with Maestro Zubin Mehta and the Israeli Philharmonic, and rubbing elbows with the life and death brigade in the Netflix reboot of her favorite TV show from childhood; Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life (written and directed by creator Amy Sherman-Palladino). in omnia paratus!
She has lent her singing voice to Yamaha's recording of The Sound of Music and with John Buccino on his 2012 single of "Grateful", which is available to download on iTunes (all proceeds benefiting victims of hurricane Sandy).
She finds the greatest gift of her career has been to bring so many extraordinary Jewish women's stories to life. Starting from a very young age in LA's first regional production of Ragtime (with the late & great Ken Page), Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank, Chava in The Fiddler on the Roof , Anna in H*tler's Tasters, & hopefully many more!
(Carole King or RGB? Please and thank you). לַחַיִּים
She splits her time between the coasts, either tending to her garden in Los Angeles or in NYC, with her toothless Cat Turnip, her 8 lb Pomeranian "Bear"ishnikov, and her wonderful muggle husband.
